This is an overview about the deprecated commands and options (marked as deprecated). For understanding the reasons, why they are deprecated, the referred pages have to be studied.
These commands are recently introduced in version 8.6.6, but the more powerful and extensible command edit info should be used, this prevents the flooding with new sub-commands with the purpose of retrieving informational content.
The new concept with -startindex|-endindex is better fitting the design of the text widget (see Additional Widget Options '-startindex/-endindex'").
The names of these options, introduced in version 8.6.6, are unsuccessful (see Renamed Tag Options). The new options -overstrikecolor and -underlinecolor should be used instead.
